Year 6 Teacher – The role

  • Manage your own classroom
  • Teach according to the national curriculum
  • Role until the end of this academic year with the opportunity to stay on a permanent basis upon review
  • Manage behaviour
  • Prepare students for secondary school
  • Full time – Monday-Friday
  • Pay calculated from MPS
  • Start date 22nd of Feb – INTERVIEWING ASAP

 

Year 6 Teacher – The school

  • Rated Good by OFSTED
  • Located in inner London – E2
  • Focus on respect and collaboration
  • Trip to local museum/art gallery twice a term
  • SLT help staff manage workloads

 

Year 6 Teacher – Person Specification

  • 2:1 in core subject degree
  • Full QTS obtained
  • Successful experience of teaching the primary curriculum is desirable
  • Good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly as it relates to achieving high rates of progress of children of primary age
  • Good subject knowledge of core National Curriculum
  • Good understanding of child development and progression and how this impacts on planning
  • Understanding of effective strategies for managing behaviour within the classroom and in accordance with the school’s policy
  • An understanding of equal opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
