The school

This is a mainstream primary school with a firm belief in inclusive education for all. The school is keen to appoint an exceptional graduate who can support children with speech and language difficulties ensuring their attendance, access and aspirations remain high. The SEN department is led by an inspirational SENCo who is experienced in ensuring pupils with additional needs thrive.

No two days will be the same in this Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role. It will include excellent training and will enable you to gain experience in dealing with a variety of Speech & Language needs. You will collaborate with the school’s teachers, parents and SENCo.

Criteria

It is essential that you have excellent Psychology or Speech & Language knowledge with a 2:1 or above and a strong academic record. Ideally, you will have some experience working with children and will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the issues faced by pupils with Special Educational Needs in the classroom. You will be patient, resilient and able to think on your feet to respond to different learner needs.
