SEN Teaching Assistant

Have you recently graduated from a British University with a Psychology-related Degree?

Are you a sympathetic and compassionate prospective educator, comfortable with the diverse and complex range of needs amongst children with SEN?

Perhaps you are pursuing a career in speech and language, child therapy, or education psychology, but you must acquire pivotal classroom experience first.

This thriving Secondary School in Wirral is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant with energy and empathy, keen to positively impact the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged students, to join their dedicated inclusion team as soon as possible.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Benefits:

  • £425 – £475 per week during term time
  • Full-time, long-term role within a single provision (no ad-hoc supply work)
  • Ideal for an aspiring Education Psychologist, SEN Teacher, Child Therapist, or Speech and Language practitioner

  • Guided by an experienced inclusion team and innovative SENCO
  • Termly visits from a Head Psychologist
  • Coached through both the application and interview process by a dedicated consultant

The Role SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Secondary provision located in Wirral
  • A multifaceted role encompassing a wide range of responsibilities, from assisting with academic assignments to providing emotional support and fostering social interaction
  • To work closely with an inspirational inclusion unit and collaborate with teachers to ensure essential emotional and academic progress
  • To tailor your support to the idiosyncratic requirements of every student in the provision’s diverse cohort
  • Sociable hours of 08:30 – 15:30 weekdays (no weekends)
  • Coveted SEN Teaching Assistant role
  • Interviewing immediately

SEN Teaching Assistant – Pre-Requisites:

  • High-calibre Degree from an elite British University (ideally Psychology-related)
  • Empathetic disposition and collaborative attitude
  • Experience with children or vulnerable adults advantageous
  • Passion in education and in the emotional progression of young people in crucial stages of development
