SEN Learning Assistant

 

This SEN Learning Assistant role is a great opportunity to develop your psychology skillset in a school setting to enter the world of educational psychology, SEN teaching or refining your interest in post-graduate study.

SEN Learning Assistant – The Role

  • SEN Learning Assistant, fulltime role for full academic year
  • Paid weekly – £425-£475 during term time
  • Role based in one school – no supply work!
  • Support an experienced Class Teacher deliver materials to students with additional learning needs
  • Become part of integral support staff team as a SEN Learning Assistant
  • Offer 1:1 and group SEN Learning Assistant support for students
  • Identify learning outcomes with the teacher/SENCo and help develop PLPs
  • Communicate with staff, SLT & parents about students progress and any areas of concern

 

SEN Learning Assistant – Person Specification

  • 1st or 2:1 psychology or education-based degree
  • Strong academic background, e.g. A-Levels
  • Passion for SEN, education & learning e.g. volunteer or similar SEN Learning Assistant role
  • Compassionate, patient & supportive attitude
  • Prior SEN Learning Assistant experience is desirable
