SEMH Teaching Assistant

i-teachers are working with an Ofsted rated Good school in Rochdale who are seeking an inspiring, energetic and flexible SEMH Teaching Assistant, able to inspire and redirect the energies of young and disaffected students, to join their passionate, close-knit team as soon as possible.
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Pre-Requisites
- Patient, resilient and nurturing disposition
- Adaptable and proactive, desponding to the diverse needs of individual students
- Must wish to train on a contract basis, before transitioning to a permanent contract with the school
- Confident and outgoing personality, whilst remaining capable of a professional persona
- Experience working with students who display challenging behaviours
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Benefits

Teaching Assistant – The Role
- Full-time, long-term role at a single provision
- Sociable hours of 0830 – 1630 Monday to Friday
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, including those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Use restorative approaches, and emotional support strategies, to aid students in managing their feelings and actions
- Re-engage students with education
- Foster a safe learning environment, free of stigma and negativity
- Establish nurturing and supportive relationships
- Deliver interventions that target key skills around emotional, social and communication skills
