This Chesterfield-based specialist provision, rapidly expanding and increasing in pupil capacity, are seeking an SEMH Science Teacher, able to inspire and redirect the energies of young, disaffected students, to join their dedicated and close-knit team either in January, or sooner if possible.
SEMH Science Teacher – Pre-Requisites
- Must drive, and hold a full UK Driving License
- QTS required
- Must possess a Business Insurance, or be willing to acquire one
- Science Degree from British University
- Patient and nurturing disposition
- Good to Outstanding teacher observation grades
- Confident and outgoing personality, whilst remaining capable of a professional persona
- Understanding of GCSE curriculum and mark scheme
- Experience working with Additional Needs advantageous to application
SEMH Science Teacher – Benefits

SEMH Science Teacher – The Role
- Full-time, long-term role at a single provision
- Sociable hours of 0830 – 1600 Monday to Friday
- SEMH Science Teacher role
- May involve going offsite to deliver work at the pupil’s homes
- Opportunity for Head of Science role at new site opening in March nearby
- To meet the varied and complex needs of disaffected pupils
- To re-engage students with education
- Potential for Duke of Edinburgh responsibilities
- Foster a safe learning environment, free of stigma and negativity
- Establish nurturing and supportive relationships
SEMH Science Teacher – The School:
- All pupils are at risk of exclusion, or have been excluded, from mainstream education, and some may have SEN, diagnosed or otherwise
