Pastoral Mentor – About the role

- Paid between £70-£90 a day, term time only

Here at i-teachers we are currently working with a number of schools who are keen to appoint talented, driven and considerate graduates in a Pastoral Mentor role. The role is ideally suited for a graduate who is high achieving and ambitious, looking to gain paid experience in a support role within education prior to moving in to either teaching training or educational psychology.
You will provide support on a 1:1 basis with pupils who are struggling with their mental health, anxiety and maybe even bereavement. You will support them pastorally and emotionally rather than academically.
You will identify the causes and triggers of pupil problems and work on strategies to support individual pupils. Providing 1:1 support and mentoring small groups of pupils will be the main basis of the role. As a Pastoral Mentor, you will liaise with parents, carers, teachers and colleagues in order to establish support plans to best help students.
