Learning Support Assistant – The Role

• Learning Support Assistant
• Support children with SEN in the classroom
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
• Support the Class Teacher and assist with the delivery of lessons
• Work 1:1 and in small group-based intervention sessions
• Acknowledge progress and give praise where appropriate
• Record progress and encourage children to participate in activities and schoolwork
• Upper KS2 SEND TA
• Promote inclusivity throughout the school

Learning Support Assistant – Person Specification

• Learning Support Assistant
• 2:1 or above in Psychology (preferred)
• Excellent academic background
• Interest to pursue a career in SEN education
• Passion for supporting children with special educational needs
• Some experience working in a SEN environment would be beneficial
• Comfortable in managing challenging behaviour
