Learning Support Assistant

A superb secondary school for students with Autism is looking to appoint a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with the dedicated teachers and participate in the education of young people, including contributing to their health and well-being.

Learning Support Assistant- The Role

  • Learning Support Assistant
  • £300 to £350 per week term time only
  • Full-time long-term role – from November until the end of the academic year
  • Gain invaluable school-based experience supporting students with Autism/SLD and complex Autism
  • Amazing opportunity for an aspiring teacher

Learning Support Assistant- The Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Autism/SLD and complex Autism
  • Assist in the planning , evaluation and delivery of learning activities
  • Lead literacy and numeracy activities in the classroom
  • Contribute to the management of pupil behaviour
  • Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

Learning Support Assistant- Person Specification

  • A minimum of 2:1 degree
  • Previous experience supporting people with Autism
  • Desire to make a difference to the life and education of young people with SEN
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic and compassionate personality
  • Passionate about education
