Curriculum Leader (Social Sciences) – The role:

  • Start: September 2024
  • Permanent contract
  • Full-time
  • Responsible to: Assistant Principle
  • To monitor the progress of students on Education, Health and Care Plans, as well as organise the required reviews for such students, including liaison with external agencies.
  • To take a lead in innovation in curriculum design in the curriculum area to ensure outstanding outcomes and to meet aspirations of students.
  • To set, implement and monitor objectives within the self-assessment and planning processes in consultation with the Assistant principals and to ensure effective implementation of action plans
  • To work with Senior Tutors and Assistant Principals on student related issues and to ensure that all students develop employability skills and have effective work experience
  • To organise and assist with cover for absent staff, including set work for students.
  • To assist the Assistant Principals with the appointment of full and part time staff
  • To assist the Assistant Principals with drafting staff timetables in line with employee conditions of service guidelines

 

Candidate specification – What the College are looking for:

  • UK QTS
  • NQTs are welcome to apply
  • 2:1 or 1st class degree, in a relevant course
  • Strong academic background
  • Good to Outstanding teacher observation grades
  • Strong classroom management
  • Experience of developing and implementing new initiatives to support the teaching and learning process which lead to improved learner outcomes
  • Experience of curriculum planning
  • Experience of planning and evaluating services and achievement of successful outcomes.
  • An understanding of the role of IT in course delivery
  • Budget management skills
  • Role is subject to an enhanced DBS check
