First up, meet Holly! Holly is a Senior Education Consultant for the Greater Manchester area and joined the team after graduating from MMU in 2016! She is passionate about education and finding graduates their dream roles to help them make an informed career choice. In her spare time, Holly enjoys walking her dog in the countryside!
Firstly, tell us a bit about your history and your University experience!
Before embarking on her recruitment journey, Holly was a student at Manchester Metropolitan University! “I studied Business with a sandwich placement year at Manchester Met University. I loved the course and was exposed to all elements of business including finance, sales, HR and much more. My favourite experience has to have been my placement year, where I worked in admin and sales. It gave me great experience of working in an office environment and helped me to prepare for the world of work.”
What drove you into a career in recruitment?
“I didn’t know what I wanted to do until I finished my exams. It is very overwhelming as a graduate looking at the job boards and wondering what path to take! Recruitment seemed like the best fit for me, supporting people to find their dream jobs and providing a consultative service to clients was a great blend of my skills. That is where my journey at i-teachers began!”
“To say the last 5 years have been a rollercoaster would be an understatement, recruitment can at times be very testing but if you stick with it, with the help of amazing colleagues you will reap the benefits”.
What do you enjoy most about working at i-teachers?
“I have now been with i-teachers for 5 years, half a decade I can’t quite believe it myself! I interviewed with i-teachers and some other agencies soon after finishing my degree, I knew I had to go with my gut feeling”.
“I’m very lucky to work with an established client base and everyone at i-teachers who shares the same vision to improve outcomes for our pupils, and provide a bespoke consultative service to schools and candidates”.
