Healthy Eating Week 2019!

As it was Healthy Eating Week last week, i-teachers decided we had to get involved! The British Nutrition Foundation initiative encourages various organisations and schools across the UK to take a keen interest in the types of food and drink they consume, and try a new and refreshing diet consisting of healthy foods and drink.

Healthy Eating week is used to promote physical activity and healthy living, and every year they set 5 challenges for everyone taking part to follow, and see if they can complete!

The challenges are….

  • Have breakfast
  • Have 5 A DAY
  • Drink plenty
  • Get active
  • Sleep well

So, here at i-teachers we challenged our team to find the healthiest lunch they can! Here’s what they brought in…..

Hamid – Brown rice and lamb mince, with fruit for a side!

Olivia – Superfood Salad with mint vinaigrette!

Holly – Homemade Jerk Chicken with rice and vegetables!

Joe – Turkey mince with sweet potato mash and broccoli, seasoned with cumin!

Jack –  Pasta with sundried tomatoes and feta cheese!

Jamie – Ham salad with pita bread!

Amy – Mixed salad from freshly chopped! – Winner for best looking lunch!

Shehla – Mango fruit box!

We discussed all the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, both for our team and i-teachers, and chatted through how this initiative helps our schools, teachers and children!
