Graduate Learning Support Assistant

A warm and welcoming secondary school in Leeds are recruiting for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team of caring, supportive, and committed staff in the next academic year. The role involves supporting a year 7 student with SEN, aiding them access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and providing modified materials as required.

Graduate Learning Support Assistant – The Role:

  • Graduate Learning Support Assistant
  • Located in Leeds
  • Providing support to a student with SEN in a mainstream school
  • Promoting the student’s educational, emotional, and social development
  • Employing and adapting various teaching strategies to suit the needs of the child
  • Liaising with SENCo and teachers to aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom
  • Helping with personal care

Graduate Learning Support Assistant – Applicant Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in any subject
  • Previous experience supporting people with SEN
  • Previous experience working/volunteering with children and young people
  • Passionate about supporting people with SEN
  • Understanding, patient and empathetic towards young people’s needs
  • Dedicated to making a difference to student’s experience of education
