Part-time Travel and Tourism Lecturer (0.6) – The role:
- Start: September 2024
- Permanent contract
- Part-time 0.6
- 2 hours per week
- Responsible to: Curriculum Co-ordinator
- The role will involve marking coursework and lesson planning
- Work alongside a supportive Senior Leadership Team
- Supporting students’ University applications and overseeing personal statements
- Providing UCAS references
- Opportunities for career progression with potential for TLR promotions down the line
- Teach, train and assess students and other client groups to quality standards set by the College, acting as course tutor to full-time and part-time groups and other student and trainees with the associated organisation, administration, and monitoring of attendance including the collection of data for course evaluation.
- Monitor and support students’ academic progress, including collection and follow up on attendance and punctuality, early leaver and destinations data,
- Participate in demonstrations and practical activities with students and trainees on all courses.
Candidate specification – What the college are looking for:
- UK QTS
- NQTs are welcome to apply
- 2:1 or 1st class degree, in a relevant course
- Strong academic background
- Good to Outstanding teacher observation grades
- Strong classroom management
- An understanding of how people learn and the factors which affect their success.
- Ability to use software applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Confident in the use of Virtual Learning Environment tools.
