This Chesterfield-based provision, rapidly expanding and increasing in pupil capacity, are seeking for their new site an Assistant Headteacher, to collaborate alongside the Head, and quickly prove an integral asset in driving the school’s mission to redirect the energies of disaffected students, reintegrating them into education, and, by extension, society.

Assistant Headteacher – Pre-Requisites

• Must drive, and hold a full UK Driving License
• Must possess a Business Insurance, or be willing to acquire one
• Proven record of successfully leading at an institute of education
• Patience and a nurturing attitude, paired with a disposition which commands respect and authority
• Strong skills in management

Assistant Headteacher – The School:

• Specialist Provision in Chesterfield, across all Key Stages
• Catering to students having been, or at serious risk of being, excluded from mainstream education, many with Special Educational Needs, diagnosed or otherwise
• Comprehensive curriculum tailored to address academic, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Strong emphasis on building resilience, self-confidence, and interpersonal skills
• Multi-disciplinary team approach involving educators, therapists, and support staff

Assistant Headteacher – The Role:

• Permanent, full-time role as an Assistant Headteacher
• Annual salary ranging from £52,000 to £58,000 + TLR (varying)
• Collaborating with the Headteacher to forge various plans whereby to direct the school and student body into the direction intended
• To address the diverse and intricate needs of disengaged pupils, aiming to reintegrate them into education
• May include teaching in the event of staff absence
• Travel to all academy sites within Chesterfield, and pupil’s home on occasion, may be expected, with mileage expected to be claimed from the nominated base
• To promote the ethos of the wider Trust, working closely with proprietors, and a proactive, supportive Governing Board
• Creating a safe and supportive learning environment, devoid of stigma or negativity
• Managing and positively reinforcing student behaviour when necessary
