Teacher of Music – Person Specification

• 1st or 2:1 degree preferred.
• Previous experience teaching music to students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Proficiency in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in music education.

Teacher of Music – The role

• Develop and implement engaging music curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of students.
• Teach music theory, history, and performance techniques.
• Provide individual and group instruction on various musical instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, violin, etc.).
• Organize and oversee student recitals, performances, and competitions.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.
