SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)

One of our incredible primary schools in Newcastle are looking for a caring, compassionate, and dedicated graduate to assist in their SEN department as a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant. The successful graduate will be providing support to a handful of pupils with Autism from September.

SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) – The Role:

  • Work under the schools SENDCo / Inclusion Manager
  • Placement within a mainstream school
  • Plan, deliver and run intervention sessions as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Tailor and adapt to specific student’s needs
  • Supporting pupils with Autism
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and parents

SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) – Person Specification

  • 2:1 or above degree in a core subject or Psychology
  • Strong academic background prior to university
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience working with people with additional needs, specifically autism
  • Compassionate and caring
  • Passionate about learning & education
