Hi everyone,
We have a few exciting updates to share from The Chazuka School in Malawi!
We would like to introduce you to Amiana pictured above. Amiana is one of the children who has been a pupil at The Chazuka School since it opened in February. On Amiana’s first day at school, she couldn’t read or write or even hold a pencil. We were really pleased to receive news from the teachers that last week, Amiana has successfully written her name, age and where she is from in pencil which is a huge achievement for such a short space of time! The teachers told Amiana that they wanted to tell i-teachers the brilliant news and then they took this photo. She was a little shy but says hello!
The school dog, Lucy, is still enjoying her role as Chief Patroller making sure the grounds are secure for the children to learn in a safe and happy environment!
Some of you may have heard of the recent and devastating floods that have hit Malawi. We’d like to inform you that all the children from the village and surrounding areas are ok. The floods hit some 50 miles away but we are relieved to hear that this hasn’t reached The Chazuka Village. Our thoughts are with those affected by the floods.
We cant wait to give you another update soon!!
